This common reaction to the July 13th verdict in Florida has caused a number of riots, protests and outbursts across the nation. What side are you on? Do you believe George Zimmerman deserves to walk free after killing 17 year old Trayvon Martin last year, or do you think he deserves intense jail time? If so, now that he’s been acquitted, will you choose the peaceful protest route to demanding justice or do you concede that “No Justice = No Peace?” Watch this video and let me know your thoughts in the comment box. Thanks. And R.I.P. Trayvon Martin.
This really is the BEST Album Review of ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ by Jay-Z so far. From start to finish, track by track, I, Miss Ruby of Pieced Apart Music and CJ City of CjCityTv take all the nay sayer reviewers to YAY-sayers after all. Realizing that many listeners declared their opinions after just one or two takes of the album, we set out to find out what Jay Z (Hov) was really talking about in each song, and man did it blow our minds?! Watch this video and join the discussion below. Enjoy!
I Am A Godoff of YEEZUS by Kanye West is arguably the most controversial song on the album. Is it ok for Kanye to call himself a GOD? Watch this video and join the discussion below.
Lyrics:
[Intro: Capleton]
Blazin, mi don’t want dem
Mi need dem
Blazin
Suh mi tek har outta bugah red and put her in a tall skirt
And now she find out what life is really worth
No to X rated
Yo mi tek har outta bugah red and put her in a tall skirt
And now she find out what life is really worth
No to X rated
[Intro]
I am a god
I am a god
I am a god
[Hook]
I am a god
Hurry up with my damn massage
Hurry up with my damn ménage
Get the Porsche out the damn garage
I am a god
Even though I’m a man of God
My whole life in the hands of God
So y’all better quit playing with God
[Verse 1]
Soon as they like you make ’em unlike you
Cause kissing people ass is so unlike you
The only rapper compared to Michael
So here’s a few hating-ass niggas who’ll fight you
And here’s a few snake-ass niggas to bite you
And I don’t even wanna hear ’bout what niggas might do
Old niggas mentally still in high school
Since the tight jeans they never liked you
Pink-ass polos with a fucking backpack
But everybody know you brought real rap back
Nobody else had swag, man, we the Rat Pack
Virgil Pyrex, Don C snapback
Ibn diamond, Chi-town shining
Monop’ in this bitch, get a change of climate
Hop in this bitch and get the same thing I’m in
Until the day I get struck by lightning
[Hook]
I am a god
So hurry up with my damn massage
In a French-ass restaurant
Hurry up with my damn croissants
I am a god
I am a god
I am a god
[Verse 2]
I just talked to Jesus
He said, “What up Yeezus?”
I said, “Shit I’m chilling
Trying to stack these millions”
I know he the most high
But I am a close high
Mi casa, su casa
That’s that cosa nostra
I am a god
I am a god
I am a god
Don’t be ashamed if you’re one of the millions of new rappers making new age rap songs, just, be DIFFERENT. Like South Carolina’s Hip-Hop sensation CKHiD, who stepped on the music scene in 2009 to “redefine the genre’s limitations.” Four strong years and over 24 million YouTube views later, the artist who’s name is an acronym for Cannot Kill How I’m Dreaming, is steadfast on his mission to do just that. Check out CKHiD’s NEW SONG/Music Video below. (Video featuring ME: MISSRUBY & Directed by MYSTIK)
Last week at an Applebee’s restaurant in St. Louis, MO, the self-proclaimed Pastor Alois Bell had dinner with 19 others and proceeded not to leave a tip, with the explanation “I give God 10%, why do you get 18?” A nasty note that was left on the credit card receipt for her server to read. The 18% gratuity that was recommended on the receipt was removed for Pastor Bell (who claims she still left $6 in cash anyway, which makes NO sense at all).
One week later, the nasty note made it’s way around the country via Internet, and exposed Pastor Bell’s non-giving, Christian spirit. She was so embarrassed and infuriated that she complained to management at the Applebee’s who took action on her behalf and fired the server who posted the image online, Chelsea Welch.
