Just One Yesterday – Fall Out Boy – [BREAKDOWN] Lyrics

27 Jun

Just One Yesterday by Fall Out Boy is a cry from a man who’s dealing with a woman so hurt that her heavenly innocence is being riddled with a hate so strong it feels like hells rain. Does he deserve it? Does She? Watch this video of a lyrical breakdown for Just One Yesterday on Pieced Apart Music and leave your comments below.

Lyrics:

I thought of angels
Choking on their halos
Get them drunk on rose water
See how dirty I can get them
Pulling out their fragile teeth
And clip their tiny wings

Anything you say can and will be held against you
So only say my name
It will be held against you
Anything you say can and will be held against you
So only say my name

If heaven’s grief brings hell’s rain
Then I’d trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday
(I know I’m bad news)
For just one yesterday
(I saved it all for you)
Oh, I want to teach you a lesson in the worst kind of way
Still I’d trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday
(I know I’m bad news)
For just one yesterday
(I saved it all for you)
For just one yesterday

Letting people down is my thing, baby
Find yourself a new gig
This town ain’t big enough for two of us
I don’t have the right name
Or the right looks
But I have twice the heart

Anything you say can and will be held against you
So only say my name
It will be held against you
Anything you say can and will be held against you
So only say my name (name)

If heaven’s grief brings hell’s rain
Then I’d trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday
(I know I’m bad news)
For just one yesterday
(I saved it all for you)
I want to teach you a lesson in the worst kind of way
Still I’d trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday
(I know I’m bad news)
For just one yesterday
(I saved it all for you)
For just one yesterday

If I spilled my guts
The world would never look at you the same way
And now I’m here to give you all my love
So I can watch your face as I take it all away, away, away, ay ay ay

If heaven’s grief brings hell’s rain
Then I’d trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday
(I know I’m bad news)
For just one yesterday
(I saved it all for you)
I want to teach you a lesson in the worst kind of way
Still I’d trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday
(I know I’m bad news)
For just one yesterday
(I saved it all for you)
For just one yesterday

Jay-Z – Open Letter Lyrics Explained

1 May

The internet has been swarming with gossip about rapper Jay-Z and wife Beyonce traveling to Cuba in April. In response to the harsh criticism the power couple had received, Jay-Z released a song titled “Open Letter” that was unfavorably written for everyone in disagreement with his destination of choice, among other things. This video contains a bar for bar breakdown of the lyrics that make up his defense, and an explanation too. Thanks for leaving your comments below.

Lyrics:

[Intro]
Ladies and gentlemen
Goddammit
Let this shit knock

[Verse 1]
I done turned Havana to Atlanta
Guayabera shirts and bandanas
Every time you think they got me I switch the plan up
Bulletproof this, radio scanners
Ballin’ ’til they ban us
You gettin’ too much bread, they try to jam you
Boy from the hood but got White House clearance
Sorry y’all, I don’t agree with y’all appearance
Politicians never did shit for me
Except lie to me, distort history
Wanna give me jail time and a fine
Fine, let me commit a real crime
I might buy a kilo from Chief Keef
Out of spite, I just might flood these streets
Hear the freedom in my speech
Got an onion from Universal, read it and weep
Would’ve brought the Nets to Brooklyn for free
Except I made millions off it, you fuckin’ dweeb
I still own the building, I’m still keeping my seat
Y’all buy that bullshit, you’d better keep y’all receipt
Obama said “chill, you gonna get me impeached”
But you don’t need this shit anyway
Chill with me on the beach

[Hook: Swizz Beatz]
Y’all gon’ learn today

[Verse 2]
Y’all almost want to start a revolution
You know whenever I’m threatened, I start shooting, bark
Catch a body, head to Houston
I’m in Cuba, I love Cubans
This communist talk is so confusing
When it’s from China, the very mic that I’m using
Idiot wind, the Bob Dylan of rap music
You’re an idiot, baby, you should become a student
Oh, you gonna learn today
Where the fuck have you been
The world’s under new management
The new role model, fuck this Zoolander sh*t

[Hook: Swizz Beatz]
Y’all gon’ learn today

Nelly went POP in New Song “Hey Porsche” – Why People are MAD About It!

5 Mar

Nelly is back with his new POP song “Hey Porsche,” and is receiving mixed reviews. I call it pop because there’s nothing Hip-Hop about it (despite what iTunes says). I am personally disappointed in the track because I’m already overwhelmed with what radio has to offer these days, and it would have been nice for an early 2000’s rapper to come back and show off his ability to remain relevant and still TRUE.

Enjoy my review of Nelly’s new song, “Hey Porsche.” And let me know your thoughts below!
